We’re all about providing opportunities for children to explore, create, and reconnect with nature. Through thoughtful design, skilled construction, and meaningful community collaboration, we strive to enrich children’s play experiences and rewild our shared spaces.
Climbing Tree grew from a seed — a deep belief in the power of play, the beauty of nature, and the importance of creating spaces where children can explore, take risks, and connect with the natural world. What began as an educational consultancy has grown into South Australia’s leading natural playspace design, construction, maintenance, and events company.
Since our establishment in 2016, we have delivered multiple unique and award-winning natural playspaces, including two of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest at Morialta Conservation Park and Ityamaiitpinna Yarta Glenthorne National Park.
We specialise in creating bespoke outdoor environments that support children’s right to play — spaces that invite risk + challenge, creativity, exploration, and connection to nature.
We strive to design spaces that are sympathetic to their environment and are created in close collaboration with the communities who will use them, ensuring each space reflects local identity and needs.
We are proud of our strong reputation for sustainability, cultural sensitivity, and community collaboration. Through our ongoing partnerships with councils, government departments, Aboriginal artists, educators, and play advocates, we bring ideas to life from conception through to delivery — building play-full spaces with care, creativity, and a deep understanding of the importance of play.

We love any opportunity to provide a unique and exciting event that will bring a community together.
“Passion does not arrive on videotape or on a CD; passion is personal. Passion is lifted from the earth itself by the muddy hands of the young, it travels along grass- stained sleeves to the heart. If we are going to save environmentalism and the environment, we must also save an endangered indicator species: the child in nature.”

We’ve built amazing things all across South Australia.
We endeavour to reconnect children with nature – to nurture rewilding of communities and spaces.
On a daily basis we witness all the benefits that spending time in nature brings, the beauty of collaboration between varied ages and abilities, excitement, creativity, thoughtfulness, innovation, mindfulness, busyness, and a healthy dose of risk and challenge.
